Adolf Maticka
Adolf Maticka was born in 1896 in Vienna. From childhood, he was immersed in socialist ideology. When the social-democratic association "Kinderfreunde" was founded at Schönbrunn Palace, Maticka became interested in pedagogy and became an educator. He became involved in the community of socialist educators and published contributions in magazines. Later, he became an organizer, writer and puppeteer at the "Kasperlstelle". The puppet theater is linked to the pursuit of children's culture suitable for socialist education. Maticka drew his inspiration from the plays of Pocci and Teschner. He was not able to complete his plans for the "Humaneum", an institution for the teaching of science, history and psychology in the service of peace education.
