Pierre Marion de Salins
We know almost nothing about Pierre Marion de Salins, whom Pierre M. Conlon calls "Jean Pierre Marion" in his chronological bibliography (Le Siècle des Lumières, tome XXXI, Index des auteurs F - M, 1761-1789. Paris: Droz, 2008, p. 364). He may be Pierre Marion de Saint-Cyr, ennobled in 1730 by an office of secretary of the king, or one of his descendants (R. de Lurion, Nobiliaire de Franche-Comté. Besançon: 1890, p. 491)? In addition to L'Heureuse pêche, two other titles are attributed to him: Le Bouquet, ou l'heureux pêcheur performed in Liège in 1770 (the catalog of the Library of M. de Soleinne says that it is the same play, with a few added couplets) and Histoire véritable performed under the title, Le Mariage rompu et amour malheureux, followed by Une bâtardise injuste, tragi-comédie en prose, divisée en cinq actes (Besançon, 1764).
