In his preface to Der Sieg der Liebe, Johannes Stauda refers to the involvement of his elderly aunt Josefine, a high school teacher, in rewriting topics from the oral tradition: he attributes the reminiscences of Franz Grillparzer's drama Die Ahnfrau (1817), also based on a Czech folk motif, to the literary education of his aunt, who wrote the first transcription of the text.
